Hawking co-wrote the book with Ellis, while he was postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge. In his 1988 book A Brief History of Time, he describes The Large Scale Structure of Space-Time as "highly technical and unreadable for the layperson.”
The book, now considered a classic, (by those believers, has also appeared in paperback format and has been reprinted many times.(Misinformation and Mathematical Chaos from ‘Hawking and Ellis aspiring authorities’ while postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge attempt to establish the axiomatic foundation for the geometry of four-dimensional spacetime (which was mistranslated and miss interpreted from Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity and Romanian Mathematical Consultation ).
Mistranslation, misinterpretation, misinformation and resultant unequaled mathematical equations, and resultant Mathematical Chaos are difficult to understand and correct.

Or, like Weinberg (and me), you can view gravity as a force field that, like the other force fields in Quantum Field Theory (QFT), exists in three-dimensional space and evolves in time according to the field equations.
