"Ben Witherington III (born December 30, 1951) is an American New Testament scholar. Witherington is Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church. He has written over thirty books and has made many appearances on radio and television programs, and is frequently featured on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, and other major networks. He also blogs on Patheos.[1]

"Witherington attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, along with minors in Philosophy and Religious Studies. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from the Durham University in England. He is an elected member of Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas, a society dedicated to New Testament studies.

"Witherington is Amos Professor of New Testament for Doctoral Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary and on the doctoral faculty at St. Andrews University in Scotland. He is now considered one of the top evangelical scholars in the world, and is an elected member of the prestigious Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas, a society dedicated to New Testament studies.

Witherington has also taught at Ashland Theological Seminary, Vanderbilt University, Duke Divinity School and Gordon-Conwell. A popular lecturer, Witherington has presented seminars for churches, colleges and biblical meetings not only in the United States but also in England, Estonia, Russia, Europe, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Australia. He has also led tours to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, and Egypt.

Witherington has written over forty books, including The Jesus Quest and The Paul Quest, both of which were selected as top biblical studies works by the Evangelical magazine Christianity Today. He also writes for many church and scholarly publications, and is a frequent contributor to the Patheos website. 

Along with many interviews on radio networks across the country, Witherington has been seen on the History Channel, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, The Discovery Channel, A&E, and the PAX Network.

Dr. Ben Witherington, III, the History of Jesus

There are 7 valid references for the history of Jesus. Most of us only have access to the Holy Bible. Only academicians have access to all according to Dr. Ben Witherington, III, one of the few legitimate experts about the history of Jesus.

“Jesus spoke Aramaic. The letters of Paul, in Acts were written ~49 years (49AD, 43-63AD end of Paul’s 1st imprisonment) after Jesus’ death. The gospels were written ~70 years (70AD) after his death. The Bible was written by Jews in Greek and translated to Latin and has been retranslated and republished with word and sentence changes several times.” 

So the exact circumstances or context about the life of Jesus are not exactly known by me and probably all other humans on earth. “For the  best known history of Jesus, though subject to the circumstances above researchers should have context for the text they read, otherwise the history becomes pretext, alleged reasons, or whatever you want his history to be.” [Witherington] 

Dr. Ben Witherington III, reported “A Humans last words are always important.” There is a whole category of publications about ‘Famous Last Words of Famous People’. Witherington continued, “No one’s last words in all of human history are more famous than those of Jesus.”

“In the Christian tradition you will often hear the phrase ‘the 9 last words of Christ,’ which actually refers to the 9 last words, Jesus uttered from the cross .{{{ Christ = messiah anointed with the Word of God SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS }}},. 

So, what were these famous 9 last words of Jesus? “The first is in Mark and then in Matthew. Jesus quotes the opening line of Psalm 22, spoken in Aramaic: Eloi, Eloi, Lema Sabachtani? “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34; Matthew 27:46 KJVHB). 

“Jesus was not the first nor the last person to feel abandoned when being unjustly executed. According to these two gospels, these are the only words Jesus spoke from the cross.”

SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS also believe the words of Jesus are the most famous last words in history but interpret these last words differently than Traditional Christians. SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS believe these were the last words of the mortal man Jesus, while suffering and praying out loud on the crucifixion cross to our One and Only true God.  "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice" [Mat 27:46],  

Presumably, Christians near death would first cry out to our God. Indeed, this is a plausible conclusion. This conclusion should be the intuitive baseline and first debated. It makes good Christian sense and teaching for our Jesus to first cry out to our God. 

Human reasonable, rational, demystified, terminal words require reasonable, rational, demystified, terminal interpretations. Abandoned and forsaken, by either the people or God, and crucifixion, suffering  and death of the ‘Divine reincarnated person-nature’ of Jesus, are contradictory, counterintuitive, irrelevant explanations about the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth, as recorded in the Biblical Gospels. 

This ‘Divine’ explanation is a stretch. Abandoned, forsaken, suffering, crucifixion and death of the assumed ‘Divine God Jesus’ are contradictory, counterintuitive, irrelevant, unreasonable, irratitonal explanations. “In special and general relativity, a light cone is the path that a flash of light, emanating from a single event (localized to a single point in space and a single moment in time, O observer) and traveling in all directions, would take through spacetime.

“Because signals and other causes (causal influences) cannot travel faster than light (see special relativity), the light cone plays an essential role in defining the concept of causality: for a given event E, the set of events that lie on or inside the past light cone of E would also be the set of all events that could send a signal that would have time to reach E and influence it in some way. 

“For example, at a time ten years before E, if we consider the set of all events in the past light cone of E which occur at that time, the result would be a sphere (2D: disk) with a radius of ten light-years centered on the position where E will occur. 

“So, any point on or inside the sphere could send a signal moving at the speed of light or slower that would have time to influence the event E. 

“Points outside the sphere at that moment would not be able to have any causal influence on E. 

“Likewise, the set of events that lie on or inside the future light cone of E would also be the set of events that could receive a signal sent out from the position and time of E, so the future light cone contains all the events that could potentially be causally influenced by E. 

“Events which lie neither in the past or future light cone of E cannot influence or be influenced by E in relativity. “Given an event E, the light cone classifies all events in spacetime into 5 distinct categories:

• Events on the future light cone of E.
• Events on the past light cone of E.
• Events inside the future light cone of E are those affected by a material particle emitted at E.
• Events inside the past light cone of E are those that can emit a material particle and affect what is happening at E.
• All other events are in the (absolute) Elsewhere of E and are those that cannot naturally affect or be affected by E. 
• Events in (absolute) Elsewhere do not exclude the effects by a 'Creator'

“If using a system of units where the speed of light in vacuum is defined as exactly 1, for example if space is measured in light-seconds and time is measured in seconds, then, provided the time axis is drawn orthogonally to the spatial axes, as the cone bisects the time and space axes, it will show a slope of 45°, because light travels a distance of one light-second in vacuum during one second.

“Since special relativity requires the speed of light to be equal in every inertial frame, all observers must arrive at the same angle of 45° for their light cones. 

“Commonly a Minkowski diagram is used to illustrate this property of Lorentz transformations. 

“Elsewhere, an integral part of light cones, is the region of spacetime outside the light cone at a given event (a point in spacetime). Events that are Elsewhere from each other are mutually unobservable, and cannot be causally connected naturally.

A transcendent  (exceeding usual limits : surpassing, extending or lying beyond the limits of ordinary Human and Universe experience M/W Dictionary) and independent Creative force outside the cone, beyond our universe and its space-time asymmetry is termed by some scientists a “Creator”. Therefore, some Physicists also imply a transcendent powerful creative force outside the cone, a “Creator”.

"There are 3 pieces of evidence arising out of space-time geometry proofs (see diagram above) which indicate 

1. there was a beginning of our universe  
2. or in an alternative, any speculative Multi-Universe in which our universe might be locaated and included.  
3. It also indicates a beginning of oscillating universes, even oscillating universes in higher dimensional space.  
4. These spacetime proofs are so widely applicable that they establish a beginning of virtually every hypothetical pre-Big-Bang condition which can be connected to our universe.

This led Dr. d’Espagnat to conclude, as related it to Spinoza’s God, saying that there exists “a holistic, non-material realm that lies outside of space and time.”  d’Espagnat’s theories point to "a veiled, non-material (super-natural in the most basic usage of the term) realm and a concept of God that is not knowable through science..... and only visible as if through a veil. Dr. Bernard d’Espagnat, a French physicist and philosopher of science whose explorations of the philosophical implications of quantum physics have opened new vistas on the definition of reality and the potential limits of knowable science, won the 2009 Templeton Prize. From the mid-1960s through the early 1980s, d’Espagnat, 87, was a philosophical visionary in the physics research community. He played a key role during this revolutionary period of exploration and development in quantum mechanics, specifically on experiments testing the “Bell’s inequalities” theorem and our Hypercosmic God located outside of space and time”.

We doctors, with Guidance, this  scientific investigator included, have delivered babies and assisted their life’s beginning. We have pronounced humans dead when their vital signs of life have terminated and humans are physically deceased.

We doctors have hastened to save humans during emergencies to prevent them from dying. Sometimes the immediate response has been successful and sometimes not. Death and final words are final, in no uncertain terms,

No humans escape death. No humans physical body can be resurrected after death, their hereafter life and soul having departed. Birth, life, death and human hereafter souls are natural, demystified and sanctified. With Guidance we doctors have deftly and definitely learned. 

This reporter knows with certainty, the certainty physics principle, that there was a sudden change in the chemical environment during our Universe formation at 2 to 20 minutes after the 'Big Bang', 13.8 billion years ago, peer reviewed and confirmed by many academic scientists. 

This sudden change appeared to be a Divine Intervention by our Infinite, Eternal God, when the chemical elements for life, CHNOPS, were formed and created extrodinarily during  nucleosyntheses. The extreme temperatures and energy required had a reason, purpose and cause. Hence an intervention.

Humans can interpret the history in the Bible about the life and death of Jesus as they so desire, according to Dr. Ben Witherington III, to uncover the meaning and purpose of Jesus, Christianity, Human life and worship our Creator God. 

However, we SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS believe Our Creator is an All Powered Scientist and a Spiritual God with 'Interconnected-Oness' and believe our Creator intervened during the 'Big Bang' and intervenes at Human death and all necessaries between.  We SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS believe to God alone belongs all the glory,  worship and 'Divinity' and strive for Jesusizement and Jeususization (more of the 'real Jesus').

Word search for ‘Brain’ in the King James Version of the Holy Bible reveals there is no word ‘Brain’ in the  KJVHB: “Brain occurs 0 times in 0 verses in the KJV."   "Mind" occurs 95 times in 92 verses in the KJV.  Yet the Human Brain is required for belief in God. 

The first mention of the word "Mind" in the gospels is   Mat 22:37:  "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy Mind." Jesus did NOT say  Thou shalt love Me the Lord thy God......

Semantics describe words that have the same meanings in different languages or in different periods of history i.e. Brain and Mind are  different languages in different periods of history. 

The Holy Bibles' words have the same meanings when written in French, German, Spanish, English and many other languages.

SCIENTIFICALLY LITERATE CHRISTIANS read the Holy Bible in their language of choice and explain the Science of Creation in their Scientific language.
